Parmesan Meatloaf

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (you can also use a mixture of beef and pork)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup ketchup or tomato sauce
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  1. Mix ingredients:
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, onion, garlic, parsley, ketchup or tomato sauce, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix everything together thoroughly using your hands or a spoon.
  1. Shape the meatloaf:
  • Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Press it down gently and shape it into a loaf shape, making sure it fills the pan evenly.
  1. Bake:
  • Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the top is nicely browned. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (70°C) when measured with a meat thermometer.
  1. Rest and serve:
  • Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute and makes it easier to slice neatly.
  1. Serve:
  • Slice the Parmesan Meatloaf and serve it warm. It goes well with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your Parmesan Meatloaf! The Parmesan cheese adds a savory depth to the meatloaf, making it a comforting and flavorful dish for any meal.
